The Morning Deluge!

It was an unprecedented rally today. 30,000, 40,000, 50,000
– how much was the participation? How to count when you are in the midst of a
sea!
It was all-out a students’ carnival – led by the `students.
When did Kolkata last observe such a colossal gathering by
the students only? I asked many a person – nobody could really answer!
On 14 November 2007 Kolkata did see a mammoth rally against
the brutal killing of peasants in Nandigram by the then government but that was
a citizens’ rally. Today the students marched through the streets by their own power
and strength.
The message was clear – brute force of the state can’t
suppress your voice and dignity.
Out of all, as a participant in this rally I firmly believe,
the central point of this enormous movement – Justice for the molested girl in
JU - would affirm.
